When you have hangover

   Many people have their own choice of food for relieving hangover. Some suggest honey, warm milk, and soups. The most common food for relieving hangover among Koreans is Dried Pollack Broth or Mung bean sprouts soup. Today, I am showing you how to make a quick Dried Pollack Broth.

If you don't know what dried pollack is look at the picture below. You can buy it at a Korean Grocery shop.

Ingredients

2 handful of dried pollack
1/2  julienne cut carrot
1/4  onion sliced
2     cloves of garlic finely chopped
20cm shallot cut diagnally
2 TBS sesame oil
1 TBS Mirim (optional)
salt and pepper

1. Wash the dried pollack and squeeze out the excess water. Cut it roughly as shown below in the picture.

2. Put sesame oil in a pot. Pour in the washed pollack and garlic. Keep stirring on medium heat for about 2 minutes.

3. Add 4-5 cups of water. Close the lid and bring it to boil. Add the carrot and onion.




















4. Once it's boiling open the lid and put Mirim. Season with salt and pepper. Put in the shallot and simmer for 2 minutes before turn off the gas.
